A major highlight of this year’s Cisco Live! was the book signing event featuring Khaled Abuelenain, Consulting Director at Acuative and a leading voice in the IT and telecom space. Abuelenain greeted attendees and signed copies of his newly released book, Network Programmability and Automation Fundamentals, at the Cisco Bookshop—drawing attention and praise from engineers, developers, and networking professionals from around the world.

With over 18 years of experience and dual CCIE certifications (R&S and SP), Khaled brings deep technical insight and a passion for modernizing network operations. His book is designed to take readers from foundational knowledge to advanced expertise in network automation, bridging gaps for both new and seasoned professionals. Aligned closely with the needs of today’s rapidly evolving industry, the book covers Cisco and open-source technologies, programmable interfaces, APIs, and hands-on tools like Python, Nornir, Ansible, and Cisco DevNet sandboxes.

Also making an appearance was networking legend Jason Gooley, often called the “Godfather of Programmability,” who shared his own insights with attendees and signed books alongside Khaled. The energy at the Cisco Store was electric—celebrating innovation, education, and the future of network automation.

Khaled’s book is available now at the Cisco Store and is fast becoming a go-to resource for network architects, engineers, and anyone looking to stay competitive in a software-defined world.
